A 14-year-old female congenital scoliosis Problem
A 14-year-old female from Uzbekistan underwent complex revision surgery for congenital scoliosis at Artemis Hospital, under the expert care of Dr. Hitesh Garg and his multidisciplinary spine surgery team. The young patient had congenital scoliosis since birth and had previously undergone spine surgery in 2021. However, due to implant failure and progressive spinal deformity, she continued to experience worsening mid- and lower-back deformity, affecting her posture and daily activities.
A visible Spinal Deformity

The patient presented with a visible spinal deformity that had progressively increased over time. Clinical history revealed congenital scoliosis associated with left foot deformity, along with a previous history of spine surgery. Despite the complexity of the condition, bowel and bladder functions remained intact, and the patient was otherwise stable for surgical intervention.
Clinical and radiological evaluation
After detailed clinical and radiological evaluation, the patient was diagnosed as an operated case of congenital scoliosis with implant failure requiring revision spinal deformity correction surgery. Considering the progressive nature of the deformity and the risk of further spinal imbalance and functional deterioration, advanced revision surgery was advised.
Successful revision of congenital scoliosis correction surgery
The patient underwent successful revision of congenital scoliosis correction surgery using advanced spinal instrumentation, deformity correction techniques, and precision-based spinal alignment procedures. The surgery aimed to correct the spinal deformity, restore balance and posture, address implant-related complications, and improve long-term spinal stability while ensuring neurological safety throughout the procedure.

Post Surgery Day
Following surgery, the patient showed excellent postoperative recovery and was discharged in stable condition after comprehensive monitoring and rehabilitation support. Significant improvement was achieved in spinal alignment, posture, trunk balance, and cosmetic appearance, helping the patient regain confidence and improved functional mobility.

This successful case highlights the importance of timely intervention and expert management in complex congenital scoliosis and revision spine deformity surgeries. India continues to emerge as a leading destination for advanced scoliosis correction surgery, offering experienced spine deformity surgeons, modern surgical technology, comprehensive rehabilitation, and cost-effective treatment for international patients seeking world-class spine care.
